Mentoring @Blackthumb Farm in Panorama City, CA
I have had the great honor of mentoring youth and adults at Blackthumb farm over the last three years. I have taught the art of natural dyes and whittling. We have also done native plant talks and weaving with nature fibers. I use my skills as a naturalist and educator to re connect us to ancestral skills and relationship tending. Through the act of land stewardship and food sovereignty we mentor youth in collective responsibility and in engage in culturally responsive teaching practices.
