Honoring the Ancestors: Day of the Dead Plant Dye Workshop

Join us for a hands-on workshop to honor Día de los Muertos and remember those we have lost. We will gather to create beautiful, living color using traditional natural dyes just in time for the holidays.

In this session, we will work with two historic colorants:

• Marigolds: The traditional flower of the dead, yielding bright golden hues.

• Cochineal: A precious natural dye that creates deep crimson reds and pinks.

Choose one textile to dye:

• A silk scarf

• A cotton bandana

• A table runner (perfect for your holiday table or home altar)

Your finished piece makes a deeply meaningful holiday gift or a personal keepsake to honor your ancestors.

No experience necessary. All materials, dyes, and textiles are provided.
